Hey guys. I was wondering, since I have gotten a lot of mail about this, if getting a lifetime membership for the alumni association is worth. They have a big list of what the membership provides for you, but personally, to those who have a membership (lifetime or annual), do you think it is worth $400 to join? Is it actually useful? Opinions would be very helpful for me in whether i should invest money in the alumni association. I hope it's not an association that just keeps pestering me to donate money. Thanks.

Hello, all.Wow, what a small developing community. I hope it grows.

Anyway, my name is Andy. And I just graduated last Sunday, June 12, 2005 with a B.A. in Communication and a minor in Mathematics, yes i know, everyone tells me how those two are totally different with each other, but what's so hard to believe? I like communicating and I'm Chinese, so I'm good at math. Anyway, so I guess I'm the newbie in this community. I was the treasurer of the Communication Association, worked in the Public Affairs office at Cheadle Hall, and work as an Research Assistant for the Communication Department on the 4th floor of Elison. (Yes and they are planning to build a new social science building next to Manizita Village just right after I graduate). After graduating, I moved back to East L.A, where I am originally from.

I am currently trying to find a job. I'm really interested in getting into the Market Research industry, but all of those jobs require experience. And all I am getting are call backs from stupid sales jobs. Question to you all is: Did you find it hard to find a job after college? I just don't want to end up homeless or a couch potato at home. Anyway, any alumni advice would be helpful in my job hunt. Thanks.

Anybody in Arizona? (Specifically, Phoenix?)

Actually, forget that. Is anybody out of state now that you've graduated?

Hey everyone! What a cool community. I found it while snooping around through my old UCSB roommate's user info. Well I graduated from UCSB in 2002 with majors in English and Spanish. Then I got my masters from UCSB in 2003 in Education. I'm now living in the Bay Area (home sweet home) teaching high school. My fondest memories of UCSB definately has to be living ocean side D.P. senior year and all the drunken trips to college night on Bill's Bus!

A forum where we can join and not listen to the incessant rants of "SOC 152 SuX0Rz!!!!!!!!!!11111111" and stuff. I mean, that was sooooooo 2 years ago. :)

My name is Ryan, I'm class of 2003, English major and I went through OSL's Leadership Certification Program. I also did 2 years on Orientation Staff and a quarter of INT 20. Now I'm 23 and work for UCSB (couldn't get away!) as an undergraduate advisor.

Hope to talk to all y'all alumni soon!

Hello! Welcome to the UCSB Alumni community! Feel free to join, post, and network with other UCSB alumni all over the world! Take a stroll down memory lane and laugh out loud as fond feelings of college life get revived.

A little about me: My name is Patrick. I graduated in 2001 with a bachelors in Art history. Currently live in Phoenix, working at American Express. My most fond memories of UCSB are the nights I ate Woodstock's Wilde Bread after late night drinking binges with my roommates. Mmm...Wilde Bread. :o9
